Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that focuses on ground fighting.  It is ideal for men and women as it uses leverage and position to subdue an opponent.  Brazilian jiu jitsu fighters will learn not only to defend themselves, but also learn different submission holds such as arm and leg locks and choke holds.  One of the things that sets BJJ apart from many other martial arts is the ability to train techniques at full speed to see what does and does not work.
In our gym we offer Gi and no Gi options. Along with the regular class, we also offer a fundamentals class that focuses on the basics of BJJ.  No matter how long you have been training, you can never drill the basics enough times.

Competition team

Our BJJ team routinely does well in competition including recently winning the team title in a national tournament.  We have 2 IBJJF World Champion students and many others who have placed in the top 3 at Pan Ams and Worlds.  Along with the competitive students, there are also a number of participants who take the class for exercise and self-discipline.  No matter what your reason for wanting to try BJJ, you will feel right at home as a member of our team.
